Job Details:

  • Full Time – Hourly
  • Monday – Friday, standard business hours
    • Starting pay: $30.00 – $32.00 per hour

Basic Job Duties:

The Warehouse Supervisor is to manage direct report and oversee safety, security, procedures, processes and workflow of the Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse staff.

  • Supervise shipping, receiving and material handler employees and monitor productivity to ensure approved standards and specifications are met
  • Analyze procedures and methods to improve quality, costs, or productivity, in keeping with product specifications, good manufacturing practices, Federal safety regulations and Company policies
  • Actively supports members’ training and professional development.
  • Counsels team members in accordance with company policies with issues relating to conduct and performance issues. Assists with recommendation and implementation of disciplinary actions
  • Provide the necessary level of training and safety inspections to assure a safe work environment
  • Ensure training is coordinated for new employees as well as incumbents so that product quality and work flow are maintained
  • Review performance of personnel as required and documents required performance enhancement plan as needed or any other disciplinary actions that may be required
  • Provides customer information by emailing or faxing documents related to product shipment to appropriate customer contacts
  • Ensure accurate inventories through management of ERP system and physical counts, including VPS consumable products, customer inventories
  • Adjustment of inventory as needed
  •  Report issues to the Production Manager, regarding production, labels, safety
  • Fills in any job in the Department, including loading and unloading trucks, process incoming and outgoing orders, calling in the carriers, and contacting customers for shipping instructions, doing finished goods inventories
  • Meet with freight company reps to ensure the service is consistent and up to our customers standards, and negotiate to get the lowest freight rates for the freight we pay for
  • Continue education as needed by attending classes or seminars related to the department
  • Compliance with all company Quality System, Operational and Human Resource Policies, procedures, and practices, including safety and housekeeping procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to directly supervise shipping, receiving, and warehouse employees and administer policies and procedures and assist with any employee relations issues and counseling as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
  • Logistics Management Degree (or similar) is preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Shipping & Receiving or Material Handling operating forklifts
  • Prior Supervisor Experience required
  • Experiences with ERP systems required
