On June 11 – 13 in Rosemont, Ill the 22nd Global Pouch Forum was attended by approximately 500-600 packaging professionals with 90 exhibitors, including representatives from Precision Color Graphics, Specialty Packaging Technologies and Advance Converting Works.

We asked Territory Sales Manager, Bob Polanzi 5 questions to sum up his thoughts on the conference. Here’s what he had to say…

What particularly impressed you at the conference?

Always a good educational conference to learn about trends in pouching.  New sustainable materials/films for pouches, cannabis packaging, and how pouches impact co-packers.

What are 5 great ideas from the event?

Sustainable flexible packaging is gaining a lot of momentum.  This includes compostable and biodegradable films used to make pouches. Many CPG’s (Consumer Packaged Goods) have mandated their packaging engineers to have sustainable solutions for all their packaging by 2024.

What conference speakers would you spotlight?

Jim Andrasic from ACW.  The Challenges of Cannabis Packaging

What did your spotlight speakers talk about?

Trends in cannabis packaging, including the challenges facing each individual state where cannabis is sold recreational as well as for medical.
